Welcome to PPE! A professional resource for parent education.
What's New?
Our next Initial Parent Educator Training will be held in McKinney, Texas on June 6 & 7, 2012. Register now!
Parents as Leaders - a new program to empower parents to assume leadership roles in their children’s schools using PPE materials and strategies.
Parent liaisons and a team of 3 to 5 parents from their school attend two (2) days of training focusing on ways that parents can use PPE materials to support their school’s Family and Community Engagement. Parents are empowered to use their leadership in the school community to get more families engaged in their children’s education.
GREAT NEWS from Wilder Research...
The three year study just completed by Wilder Research shows PPE’s Back to Basics Series resulted in increased attachment between parents and their children and reduced stress in the parenting experience. Parents also reported that after they had participated in the Back to Basics classes, their children did better on homework and grades and that their children’s relationships with their teachers and their peers improved.
Program participants were overwhelmingly satisfied with their experience in the Back to Basics course and said that they would recommend it to other parents.
Who needs PPE?
FAMILIES who are grappling with raising their children in a global world that is very different from the world in which they grew up.
SCHOOLS who are being asked to do much more with fewer resources.
COMMUNITIES who are struggling with bullying, teen suicides, drug and alcohol abuse, school dropouts, teen pregnancies and gangs.
PPE's easy-to-implement programs in English and Spanish are effective in diverse settings and provide quantifiable results. They help families from the time their children are newborns until they are young adults with expected developmental issues as well as with issues that they never expected to face.
